That's how filters are going to look and work.
- Search by: all titles, dramas (also films), animas, people, users, characters.
- Order by: ascending, descending, score, popularity, recently added.
- Listing by: is/is not on my list, on my friends list.
- Medium, country, episodes, year, genres.
- Actors and staff (by entering their name, mdl will show you a dropdown of possible names).
Search is also pretty much done, it'll how it'll look. You options, like said before will be pretty nice.
- Instant search (searches as you write in the upper menu, you can remove your search).
- Shows results (how many).
- Navigate between pages.
- See year, rating, synopsis, poster, genres, type
- See 'on my list' or 'not on my list'
- See 'on my friend's list' or not.
- Use filters.
This looks really good. But I have a feeling without those alternate colours it will look better but at the same time I feel if it is removed emptiness will show on the page (like last one) but maybe it would look neater.
ReplyDeleteOh I notice the rating stars seem to start from the right side, unlike what we are always used to the left side right?
I have to say that now the space is used really effectively, you even solved the issue with the 'not on my list add' '1 friend has on list details' issue by moving it below the synopsis. Great move. having also added the genres and formats and years to each is great. I also like the stars, but will have to get used that it's rating it from the right to the left :P

It's getting more and more beautiful! 8D I love how the boxes' background colours "switch", lol. Also, this "not on my list/add" and "on friend's list/details" seems pretty useful, I'll like to have it there. ^^
ReplyDeleteBut if I may say it (even if it's, well, useless, lol), I noticed that longer synopsis are suddenly cut off to fit in the table, so I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to put "..."s at the end?
Anyways, I'm excited about those filters, too! They really will make searching a lot easier (and fun!) ^^
I agree with Fara7 in suggesting that it would be more comfortable for users if the rating stars start from the left side inside of the right side seen from the screencap.

ReplyDeleteBut I am so rarely using "search" or other things in MDL, so I can't say more critic. But~
If this a right place, I wanna say something about things I am using often in MDL~
For example - friends requests. I would like that there will be something like "accept or deny friend requests" (like in FB or something~)
Then - notification, personal messages and other - it can be shown in other color like red~ Coz I usually just don't see these notifications, he he he~
Then - that line "❧ Profile:: Inbox ::Submissions:: Dramas :: People :: Friends ::" can be a little bit bigger size that it would be more visible~
And about layer color - I prefer lighter one~~

-we're not going to change anything in v2, we already declared it. The notifications in the new version will be clear.
Wow the new version is looking really good! The space is indeed used wisely and it looks clear and easy to use. Also the filters seem really good and now it'll really be easier to look for the series.
ReplyDeleteOnly thing I don't find that attractive are the colors. It's so...dark. The green one looks fine but the dark grey is just so fusty.
But keep on doing the good work, I'm sure that it'll look even better later! :)

I think those colours are pretty cool. They compose well with the rest of the site.
ReplyDeleteBut there's one thing that I'd like to see on mdl. It's history of our watched dramas. Like when we started it, when we ended it - it seems pretty useful when we want to track down our history. This feature is available on my anime list and I really like it. I'd be great if it was also on mdl.
This is really great and I like this 'friend's' thing. Search by genres will also be very useful! Also characters... great job.

ReplyDeleteLike what Bingo and lustmord have said, putting ellipsis or "read more" after the certain chunk of the synopsis would be great. ♥
This falls under the "profile configuration options," but I was wondering if changing usernames would be feasible sometime in the future? :x
