I don't know why, but round corners would make this look less edgy and scratchy. I don't know, but MAL also has edgy corners and that sucks.. It would look so much more futuristic if it had all soft round sexy corners...

I think design consistency is a really important element. All the rest of the site doesn't have rounded corners, so suddenly introducing them is a breakaway from the general look of it.
As for the icons, I think they're pretty fitting and they're consistent as well, all coming from the same icon set.

I don't care about the corners ^^ I think I'd like it either way. But I wonder where the extended search will be? And maybe there could be a tiny triangle next to the icon in the search to imply that there is a drop-down menu.
And what about the logo? Won't there be any logo at all or is it just not finished?
Oh, just saw in the other post the extended search and I believe you can see the filter whenever you search. That is a much nicer solution then the current plus sign ^^b
From the screencap, I see that we will have a dark green/gray colored theme for the site, but would if be possible to have an array of theme colors to choose from? I'm sure many of us have encountered this option on other sites around the net where we can pick the most preferable design/color for a site from the profile editing page or somewhere else appropriate.
@ooaeioo I'd like to keep the green as it's always been the tone of mdl, but we may offer a bright skin if enough people are interested and we have the resources.
@skapism I understand since green is mdl's representative color. I just wanted to suggest to have more than one green color theme combination to pick from since this one might not be everybody's favorite. Thanks.
I agree with "ooaeioo" that it would be nice add if you can select color theme you'd like to use. I like this darkish version, but it would make MDL more advanced to have opportunity to choose a color which you prefer. Atleast there wouldn't be argue about colors. "No dark! Its so depressing!"
In this version I would like prefer if color of flags like "episodes" "images" "comments" etc. would have other color of green, so they would pop up more. Now they look a bit invisible.
